When is the best time to lay turf in South East Queensland?

The answer is all year round! Our sub-tropical climate is our landscaping advantage. The turf varieties available at West Turf are warm climate grasses suitable for harvesting and planting in all seasons in our local area.

It is true that growth slows over cooler months. So, if you are planting in Autumn or Winter, be prepared for your lawn to need a longer establishment period. Turf installed in Spring and Summer will “take” faster but will require more water to keep it alive while it establishes.

How much does your turf cost in Brisbane?

Fresh turf is the ultimate lawn solution trumping artificial turf and seed options.

What size is a slab of turf?

At West Turf our harvester cuts slabs from the paddock – not rolls onto pallets – ready for transport to your delivery address or collection from the farm. Our slabs measure approximately 1170mm x 600mm. One West Turf slab equals approximately 0.7sqm. Turf is ordered and sold per square metre, not per slab. If you need help calculating your square meterage, refer to our blog, “Measuring your lawn”, or contact us.

Can I buy turf in small quantities?

At West Turf, you can absolutely buy turf in smaller quantities! Whether you need just a few slabs for a patch-up job or enough for a full lawn, we cater to both small and large orders. We fill small orders, even as little as 5sqm, and also offer easy farm pick-up!

Can I pick up turf from your farm?

Yes, collection is available by arrangement. Please call us to organise a suitable time.
