For smaller jobs, tighter budgets, or projects where you’d rather get turf sooner than wait for a delivery run, West Turf offers the option to pick up turf directly from the farm at a discounted price.

Located just over an hour north of Brisbane, our farm is a short drive for many local customers. Picking up direct from the source means your turf hasn’t been sitting around on a truck or in transit. You collect it fresh, take it straight to the site, and get started when it suits your schedule.

If you’ve got access to a ute, trailer, or truck, or can borrow or hire one, picking up from the farm gives you a bit more control over timing. Tradies working nearby often choose pick-up for the same reason: it keeps things moving, avoids unnecessary delays and is cost-effective.

Pick up directly from our farm and save

When you pick up from the farm, you’re not only skipping delivery fees, you’re also getting discounted pricing on all pick-up orders. For smaller orders, a $35 small order surcharge applies to pick-up orders of 10 square metres or under for the following varieties:

Sir Walter

How farm pick-ups work at West Turf

step one

Double-check your vehicle is suitable for pick-up

Before placing your order, please take a moment to check that your ute, trailer, or truck can safely carry the size and weight of your order.

As the driver, you are responsible for the safety of your vehicle and load, so it’s important to feel comfortable with what you’re collecting.

Take the time to confirm this beforehand to avoid any issues on the day. If you’re unsure, give us a call, and we can recommend the best option.

Receive confirmation and invoice

Call or text Toni on 0439 564 239, or email office@westturf.com.au, with:

Pick-up windows

Orders need to be placed by 2.00pm the day before pick-up.

Place your order

Once your order is confirmed, you’ll receive an email invoice and a confirmation text message with your pick-up details.

Payment is due the day before harvest and pick-up.

Your turf is freshly harvested

Monday to Friday pick-ups are harvested at 4.00am on the same day, and Saturday pick-ups are harvested at 4.00am Friday, or Friday afternoon, depending on the season.

This means that your turf is as fresh as possible and ready to go when you arrive.

Head to the farm for pick up

When you’re around 15 minutes away, give our Farm Manager a call using the number in your confirmation text. That gives the team a heads-up so everything’s ready when you arrive, with your order waiting and set to be loaded.

Your turf will be loaded and ready to go

Where possible, turf will be forklifted onto your vehicle. If your vehicle doesn’t allow for forklift loading, you may be asked to hand load. It’s important to note that turf is loaded without pallets, so keep this in mind when preparing your vehicle.

Most importantly, secure your load with appropriate tie-down straps and double-check that everything is safe and ready to go.

Vehicle suitability and load safety are the responsibility of the driver

Drivers are responsible for checking that their vehicle can safely carry the load, stay within the vehicle’s load limits, and secure the turf correctly before leaving the farm. Our team is always happy to answer questions beforehand, but the final responsibility for the safety of the vehicle and load sits with the driver.

For this reason, West Turf cannot be held responsible for any damage to vehicles, property, or persons during or after pick-up.

If you’re unsure about load weights, towing limits, or what your vehicle can safely carry, it’s a good idea to check ahead of time or look into load and towing capacity guidelines before placing your order.

Clear communication and pick-up process

Once your order is booked, we’ll send clear pick-up details via text and email so you know exactly when to arrive and what to expect. If anything changes around harvest or timing, we’ll give you a heads-up early.

Fresh turf, loaded and ready

Turf for pick-up is harvested early and near collection time. That means it hasn’t been sitting around or travelling far. You’re picking it up fresh from the farm, ready to go straight to site and be installed.
